Kenny Hill Signature Double-Top 2003

Posted By Dusty Woodruff (Woodruff), Friday, September 16, 2016

2003 Kenny Hill, Signature Series, double-top
Scale: 640mm (less left-hand stretching!)
Soundboard: Spruce over cedar with fan strut bracing
Finish: French polish
Back/Sides: Indian rosewood with soundports
Fretboard: Ebony
Condition: Good (a couple dings on the soundboard)
Tuners: Gilbert

Brief description:
This is a guitar that I have played both solo and with the Athens Guitar Duo since about 2005 and that I brought from John Sutherland. I am trying to sell the guitar for $4800 (the same setup retails now for $7500 according to Hill's website). I would go into depth about how the guitar sounds (like everyone does at this point) but just come over and check it out. The guitar sounds like a really well broken-in Hill and with his characteristic volume, clarity and richness! There are plenty of nuances to the sound but, again, come by and play it if you are interested--or if you are not interested and just want to play a very beautiful guitar, drink some coffee, and just want to shoot the breeze otherwise.  I live in Greensboro, GA.

I am hoping to have a good sound clip up soon--stay tuned!

2008 Fritz Mueller Cedar Double Top: EUR 6.950.=

Posted By Hans Brinker, Tuesday, March 4, 2014

This is a beautiful, very special guitar. Excellent playability, very powerfull and a beautiful sound. Any professional guitarist will surprise the audience by demonstrating the possibillities of this double top. You will enjoy playing this guitar every minute.

-  Scale                                : 650mm
- Origin                               : Canada
- Top                                   : Cedar double top with aramid-fiber honeycomb
- Back and sides               : Cocobolo (very similar to Brazilian rosewood acoustically), with
lots of upper harmonic content for sparkle in the sound, plus mass
and stiffness for sustain and projection
- Relatively thick and heavy sides laminated to increase stiffness and block energy loss from

   trussrod

The saddle and nut are of 10,000 year old mammoth tusk from Siberia
