2011 Randy Angella CD/BR Double Top Classical Guitar

Posted By Tao He, Sunday, May 26, 2013

Up for sale is a almost brand new 2011 Randy Angella double top concert classical guitar. I bought this guitar about a year ago from a concert guitarist in east coast, and barely play it since I switch to shorter scale guitar (640 mm). So here is the chance to own one of the best comtemporary guitars. The prize winner guitarist Jorge Caballero played Angella's guitar on lot his concert tours, the same double top model. This guitar has huge volume and modern focus tone, totally different sound compared to traditional guitars, also different from those carbon composite top guitars. It has quarterly sawn Brazilian rosewood back and side, the 20th fret for concert players, and come with a brand new TKL case. There is no single scratch or mark, 100% clean top. The double top has 9 fans bracing pattern, with each single brace having carbon inlayed in the center, which produce unique tone. The action is set a little high (for most concert players), but can be adjustable. If interested, please contact: taoacu2000@yahoo.com

Top: cedar (double layers)
Back/side/Bridge: solid Brazilian rosewood
Neck: Mahogany
Fingerboard: Ebony
Scale length: 650 mm
Nut width: 53 mm
Tuner: Gotoh Premium
Action height: 6/32nd" at low E and 5/32nd at high E

Also forgot to mention there is a little bit of radius at every fret, so it facilitate the barring of the left hand.

2006 Humphrey Millennium

Posted By Henry Johnston, Monday, May 13, 2013

Here is a superb 2006 Thomas Humphrey "Millennium" model guitar in fabulous condition. The spruce soundboard, with a hint of bearclaw in the lower bout, is in almost new condition with the most minimal playing wear and only a couple of tiny marks. The grain varies from rather wide on the sides to very tight at the middle seam. The back and sides are Brazilian Rosewood in nearly perfect condition.

This guitar is from the last 2 years of Tom’s production and has the trademark quality of tone that the Humphrey Millennium is known for - a powerful, "hollow" and very focused sound which makes these instruments particularly well-suited to the concert stage, where added projection is welcomed by both the audience and the player. I have listened to this guitar played in a concert hall, back to back, with other great concert instruments. In addition to having great volume/projection, it has a warm beautiful tone, which compared very favorably to that of traditionally braced guitars by Dean, Ambridge, Marvi and Byers.

The neck measurements are all standard. The nut = 53mm, action height at 12th fret is 4.2 mm on the bass side and 3mm on the treble. The action on this guitar is perfect and a joy to play, and of course, it has the raised fingerboard, which makes playing up high remarkably easy. It has the original Gotoh tuners with black Florentine buttons.

I am, I believe the 2nd owner. The first one was a steel string player/collector who, since he hardly played this guitar, decided to sell it after about 5 years.

This is a fabulous example of Tom Humphrey’s late work and would be a great instrument for a serious collector or concert performer. Included is the original GWW hardshell, chestnut/alligator, vinyl case in great shape.

Feel free to ask questions; I’m happy to tell you anything more I know about this guitar. I'm am asking $ 20,000.

Alan Chapman Classical Guitar 1978

Posted By Gregory Burton, Monday, May 13, 2013

Alan Chapman Classical Guitar

Made in early 1978 by this Well-Known Massachusetts Luthier as a Special Order for its Current and Only Owner

Norwegian Spruce Face

Grenadilla Sides and Back

Ebony Fretboard

Quarter sawn Mahogany Neck

Hand-made Alan Chapman Rosette

Tuners replaced in 2002 by Herb David Guitar Studio of Ann Arbor, MI (now d.b.a. Ann Arbor Guitars)

Hard-shell Case

Appraised in 2002 for $5000.

This was Alan's top-of-the-line design at the time and produces deep basses and clear, present trebles with its nicely aged spruce face.

I'm playing very little classical these days, and this guitar deserves a good home where it can be appreciated! A few nicks in finish near bridge and tuners but otherwise clean.

Asking $3500.

Daniel Friederich Spruce Concert guitar 1972

Posted By Eric Bilange, Monday, January 28, 2013
Very good shape, like new. This guitar was built for the famous concertist Turibio Santos. Spruce Friederich guitars are incredibly rare. This one is an exceptional model as it's like new and for its performance.

This model is the 'grand concert' featured with double-sides. it has a spruce top,  Indian rosewood sides (both inside and outside), and the back is Indian rosewood as well. This guitar was never repaired or modified, in its total original condition. Dominique Field recently touched it up. He redid the neck French polish, reftretted it and cleaned the original polish all over - which has aged but still in excellent condition. This guitar is powerful and musical and it will always be an amazing instrument for concerts. On top of its general qualities, it is very flexible and lyrical as were Friederich's guitars back in the 70s.

This guitar is currently located in Paris at Dominique Field's shop. Shipping will be performed by Dominique Field which is a warranty of proper handling. Asking price is $39,000
